Turnover among development staff continues.
Reasons vary, but most are traced to not meeting the expectation of the newly placed staff person or the organization.
But there is a small window of opportunity to dramatically improve the odds of success with newly placed development staff. Professional onboarding, setting the right expectations, and creating the right metrics are the foundation of this effort.
Make Philanthropy Work has the expertise and experience to train, define roles and responsibilities, and provide ongoing coaching to set up your hire for success. We help you prepare before their first day, so they hit the ground running. For the organization, we set expectations, metrics and build in the necessary support to maximize the chances for success.
We offer a comprehensive, turn-key operation for nonprofits that brings a new fundraiser aboard without the need for leadership and the board to take on this additional task they’re rarely capable of accomplishing.
You can reduce the stress and strain on your leadership team and organization by outsourcing the training and coaching. We can help. Here's how.
Onboarding Steps
Make Philanthropy Work implements three steps (with customization depending on the client) of time frames based on each client’s need, capability, and goals.
Step 1:
Before the first day, determine goals and capabilities.
Step 2:
Day 1 - 7, determine fundraiser strengths and weaknesses.
Step 3:
Day 7 - 90*, execute the plan and adjust at intervals.
* The client can end the contract before the 90 days if they believe their goals are reached sooner than anticipated.
